Intro to Final Opening Film
All year this is the culmination of the skills we have gathered and learned throughout the year.
It has been a long year and we had started scheming the ideas for this project back in March
and here it is now. It has fully come to life and we are very happy with our final opening film.
Thus, without further ado, lets get into the context and conventions of this opening film.

The Story Behind
The main characters of our film, Gianluca and Danny, share two very different pasts.
Gianluca is the wealthy man with flashy cars and an insane mansion. Danny on the
other side, is a white-collar criminal who targets mainly wealthy individuals, but
always makes sure to refrain from hurting anyone directly. In the first shot you see a
drone shot of the beach that shows the viewer of the setting. A tropical, upper middle
class area with scenic views, nice beaches, and wealthy residents. The song that initially
plays is called "Music Sound Better With You" which we adopted from a popular video
game with deals with the same concepts of crime in a very populated city. The next shot
is an establishing shot of Gianluca's house which as represents his wealth, while
simultaneously representing the location, which is tropical, sunny, and an overall safe
area. The fonts used for the credits pop out and our vibrant in order to draw in the viewers
to the different names as well as to the title of the film. The next shot shows Gianluca in front
of his Mercedes which then transitions to another shot where he is walking towards his house.
We tried to shoot these shots at a lower angle in order to show his prominence. As soon as
he enters the front entrance to his house, he pays no attention to the man in front, who he
presumes is part of the security team. At this point, the music changes to a more fast paced
and intense song that we adopted from a movie called "The Crank" which involves much of
the same conventions. We show the same exact shots as we did with Gianluca, but now with
Danny as he quickly steals the vehicle. The last part of the film end with Danny driving off
quickly into the distance, and then parking the vehicle at the drop-off area.

Will all the planning complete we decide that it is time to set a time for
filming. At this point we had already thought about this, but it was difficult
to schedule a time and day that was good for everyone. This was the weekend
though when everybody was together and the filming was smooth sailing since
we had the script and shots all planned out.

With all of our film shot, we just needed to piece it all together to create our
final opening film of the year. My partner and I combined efforts to edit and have
the video out on youtube as soon as possible. He edited the majority of it, but I picked
the music for each of the scenes, as well as the font for the credits and film title. After
we had completed the film, we quickly uploaded to our youtube and then to our weeblys
and we were ready to go.

Now with everything completed, all we had left was our evaluations questions so we
analyzed each question, wrote out what exactly we were going to say and the points
we were going to hit. We created a podcast to express our ideas and it turned out quite
well.
